PSL 2017 Opening Ceremony

PSL 2017 second season started with happiness. PSL 2017 opening ceremony was held in Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The opening ceremony was held on 9 February 2017. Several Pakistani celebrities joined PSL opening ceremony. There were two Pakistani singers in PSL 2017 opening ceremony who signed a beautiful song for audience. The songs were “Ballay Ballay” and “Ab Khel Jamay Ga”. At the starting time when PSL 2017 opening ceremony function started, defending champion Islamabad United came into ground in traditional shalwar kameez. Opening match of PSL 2017 was delayed due to ceremony.

PSL 2017 Information

It was the second season of Pakistan Super League. After the success of first PSL, PCB announced that second PSL will be launched in 2017. There was a special thing in this tournament is that final was played at Lahore, Pakistan. As you know in first session, security system of Pakistan was not reliable so it was impossible to play even a single PSL match in Pakistan ground. But in 2017, PCB announced that, PSL 2017 final match might be played in Pakistan. PCB chairman said that PSL 2017 final will be played in Lahore Gaddafi stadium in any cost. Everyone became happy and everyone had curious to see PSL 2017 final match. Some foreign players were not agreed to go to Pakistan to play final match. But PCB went with his decision and finally PSL 2017 final match played in Lahore (Pakistan). PCB changed some foreign player who didn’t agree to come to Pakistan and included some other foreign players on behalf of those players. Well PCB got success in this tournament.

Rules and Regulation

There were five teams included in PSL 2016. There were total 414 players including both Pakistani and Foreign players. Five teams were included in this tournament. Total 34 matches played in this PSL. Thirty (30) matches were play-off, two (2) semi finals, one (1) eliminate match and one (1) final match played in this tournament. In play-off matches, each team played two matches with each team. In group matches, two points will be awarded for a win. If any match will tie, result will be showed on the base of high number of points or higher number of wins or least number of defeats or net run rate or super over. These five teams were included in PSL 2017.

PSL 2017 Awards

Kamran Akmal of Peshawar Zalmi was the player of the tournament. Kamran Scored 353 runs and got the man of the match award and also declared the nest keeper of the session. Sohail Khan was the leading wicket taker of this tournament. Sohail took 16 wickets at the average of 15.00. Darren Sammy showed fantastic performance in final match and put his team on the way of victory. Darren Sammy collected man of the match and also the trophy of the tournament. A Bit Information About PSL 2018

Pakistan Super League 2018 will be start next year. Its preparation is starting now and PCB chief Shahryar Khan says that this 2018 season of PSL will be very important for Pakistan cricket and we trying our best to play more matches at home (Pakistan). PCB has announced Multan Sultans as six team as well in next PSL 2018 edition. Now teams are six in PSL and number of matches also be increased. It is says that all the matches will be played in Pakistan. But decision is on pending. Let’s see what will happen.  But for now it is final that eight games will be played in Pakistan and PSL 2018 final match will be played in Karachi cricket stadium. Peshawar won PSL 2017 trophy so Peshawar Zalmi owner requested to PCB chief that 3 to 4 games will be played in Peshawar. But this decision is also on pending.
