Lahore Qalandars Sign Shoaib Akhter as Team Mentor

Pakistan Super League (PSL) T20 2018, one of the quickest and well known players in cricket Shoaib Akhter sign an agreement with Lahore Qalandars franchise as team mentor. Plenty of changes were made by all team before the start of PSL 2018 season. Recently Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis were signed with Multan Sultan and Islamabad United team now speed star also known as “Rawalpindi Express” now became the team mentor for Lahore Qalandars team for Pakistan Super League 2018 season.

Shoaib Akhter is one of the legends of cricket and famous due to his quick fast bowling attack. He represents the Green Shirts (Pakistan) in International Cricket. Shoaib Akhter represents the team Pakistan in 46 Test Matches, 163 ODI Matches and 15 Twenty 20 International Matches.

A press conference was released on Friday at Qaddafi Stadium Lahore in which Fawad Rana CEO of Lahore Qalandars announced that Shoaib Akhter has joined the Qalandars family as team Mentor. Shoaib Akhter, Aqib Javed and Haris Rauf were also present at that moment.

Shoaib Akhter said “I am honoured and privileged to be a part of this, extremely excited and thrilled” he further said that “I want fast bowlers to perform aggressively and will mentor these bowlers to become what a fast bowler should be”. Akhter who played international cricket for more than decade was one of the quickest bowlers of this era. Now he will guide the Lahore Qalandars bowler how to bowl quick and in line to trouble the batsman.

Shoaib Akhter also admired the effort of Lahore Qalandars team in talent hunt program which was organized by the team. He said “ I never seen a talent hunt program of such huge level scale in my career”.
